About this trip

This version splits the driving, starts at nine rather than seven, and uses properties with family rooms and reliable hot water. Gulmarg and Pahalgam each get their own overnight so nobody spends five hours in a car in one day.

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Arrive Srinagar

    Airport pickup, hotel check-in and a relaxed afternoon shikara ride.

  2. Day 2

    Srinagar sightseeing

    Mughal gardens at an easy pace with breaks. Afternoon free.

  3. Day 3

    To Gulmarg

    Short drive to Gulmarg. Gondola phase one and time in the meadow. Overnight in Gulmarg.

  4. Day 4

    Gulmarg to Pahalgam

    Scenic drive with a stop at Pampore. Evening by the Lidder river.

  5. Day 5

    Pahalgam valleys

    Betaab and Aru valleys. Pony rides for children who want them.

  6. Day 6

    Back to Srinagar

    Return to Srinagar with time for shopping in Lal Chowk.

  7. Day 7

    Departure

    Transfer to Srinagar airport.
