About this trip

The Pahalgam route is the traditional approach to the Amarnath cave — longer than Baltal, but gentler and spread over more days.

Registration with the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board is mandatory and requires a Compulsory Health Certificate from an authorised doctor. We guide you through the process, but the Board sets the dates, quotas and eligibility rules and we cannot bypass them.

We handle stay, transport, camp coordination and support on the ground.

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Arrive Srinagar

    Airport pickup and overnight in Srinagar. Document and registration check.

  2. Day 2

    Srinagar to Pahalgam

    Drive to Pahalgam and overnight at the base camp.

  3. Day 3

    Chandanwari to Sheshnag

    Transfer to Chandanwari and begin the trek to Sheshnag. Overnight in camp.

  4. Day 4

    Sheshnag to the cave, then Panjtarni

    Continue via Mahagunas Pass to the holy cave for darshan, then descend to Panjtarni.

  5. Day 5

    Return to Srinagar

    Descend and drive back to Srinagar for departure.

Do you handle the registration?
We guide you through it and help with the paperwork, but registration is issued by the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board and requires a health certificate from a doctor on their authorised list. Quotas and dates are set by the Board.
Is there an age limit?
The Shrine Board sets age limits each year — typically no one below 13 or above 70, and no women more than six weeks pregnant. Please confirm the current year’s rules with us before booking.
Can I take a helicopter instead of walking?
Helicopter services operate to Panjtarni in most years. Tickets are booked separately and sell out quickly. We can advise on timing.
